Is anyone growing the steakhouse tomato ? I have 2 and im prety impress by it so far.the plant and leaves are biger than the other gaint tomatoes, and they can grow a nice mega bloom to.i know that a biger plant and biger leaves dont mean anything, but if you are only leting the plant grow to 2' i like the idea of thicker stalks and larger leaves.

Last season quite a few grew it and it seemed the overall consensus was average.

With that being said, I believe it has the capability to grow very large if it produces a mega bloom of decent size.

Of course the cross used to create this is a proprietary secret of Burpee.

It is on my list of tomatoes to grow for competition but this season filled up quickly with other seeds to grow.

Next year perhaps.

Well i have 30 competition tomatoes so i guess that i will see how it compairs to the other gaints. This is my first real atempt at growing the gaint tomatoes so i hope that i can give them the respect they deserve.

I've got a couple going and this season I'm going to pay attention and prune them. Got one with a pretty nice mega on it right now beginning to develope. They do have nice large leaves & stems on them. The plants from last season developed very quickly and got away from me.

I have about 20 steakhouse plants going. The plants are impressive. More robust than the Big Zacs..A couple decent mega blooms going. We will see

This is still my most impressive tomoto so far !!! As george said this is a more robust plant and easy to grow. That being said, i do have at least 5 mega blooms that are also impressive looking so things are looking good so far long season to go.

I picked a 3 lb 2 oz. Last week not to bad so far its my PB. But my mega marv is bigger !I do recomend trying the steakhouse the plant it stronger than big zac,but im only a novice grower and a more experianced grower could probably do much better. Its doing much better than my zaczilla in every way.

I think that the steakhouse may have a shorter growing period. Imine turned ripe at about 38 Dap. And i think that i have seen a few others do that. Where as i have seen some big zac tomatoes take 50-55 Dap to ripen.
