Dan- I've pretty much was able to find answers to just about all the questions I had about the 8.41 plant(thanks to everyone who posted info)... Two questions I have left ..how big and how deep did you plant the starts?...also, was the low soil Ph a surprise to you?, if so , will you make adjustments?...thanks a bunch

After seeing what he did with that ph,,,,, I may have to lower mine where I plan on doing a couple tomatoes.

I like to get the plant in at a very young age.the 8.41 i put out at about a month old and the 6.88 got put in the ground after about 2 to 3 weeks.the plants are not real big at that stage so I just bury right up to the first true leaves.
I like what I saw when I pulled up the 6.88 plant.it had a massive tap root which I think is important.

The ph was a surprise.I will raise it up to about 6,but that's it.

This will be my fourth go around , last year was the first year I was paying attention though..I ve gardened 30+ years and never even knew about the Giants...doesn't get any more fun for me...!!!!!...9 anyone?
