I know, it's rather anti-climactic after an 8.41 lb. behemoth!
But several state records have fallen this year, so why not Utah's? It currently stands at 3.486 lbs.
My Michael's Portuguese Monster specimen measures, after geometry adjustment factors (it's got lots of crevices and bumps) to:
4.012 lbs.
Appointment in a few hours with Utah Division of Weights and Measures. In my fifth year of trying to grow the BIG ONE, it would be nice to at least, finally, break through the 4 lb. barrier!

Go Dale. As soon as you break 4 you will be looking at 5 or maybe 10 depending on expectations.

Well, it's a new state record, but not 4 lbs. yet.
But the season's not over! In the past, the majority of my larger tomatoes have been harvested in October. This summer has been exceptionally cool, however, and lots of 2+ pounders have ripened in the past couple of weeks. I've had a couple of other 3+ lbs. with more to follow. But I just don't see anything growing fast enough to challenge 4 - let alone 5, or 10!
Still plenty to learn and techniques to try next year.
Pics will be posted shortly in diary.
Thanks for the positive vibes!

Ok, time to pick my Domingo specimen tomorrow.
Circumferences are 620 X 523 X 501 mm (24.4 X 20.6 X 19.7 in.) Single CC formula projects 4.96 lbs. Three CC's projects 5.75. Three diameters projects 4.93.
The adjustment factor needed to match 3 CC's estimate to actual wait for Porkchop's "The Real MacCoy" was 0.758 - the lowest I've ever recorded among hundreds of specimens. But it's the same variety (Domingo) from the same seed source with very similar looking geometry. So that will probably yield my best estimate:
5.746 X 0.758 = 4.355 lbs.
At least this rather conservative estimate puts me above 4 lbs., finally!
