My wife found this on youtube. Just posted at the beginning of the month and talks about the record I just broke but shows a picture of a 1988 Guiness Book. I thought the record was set in 1986.

Yes, it was 1986 (late June, I believe) when he harvested his 7.75 lb. tomato; 1988 was the publication year of the Guinness Book of World Records when Gordon's accomplishment was recorded.

Note that Gordon states very clearly in this video and in his guide to growing giant tomatoes that the vine which grew to 52' was NOT the same vine that grew the 7.75 lb. Delicious specimen. His guide states clearly the 52' vine (and later 53-1/2' vine) was the variety "Sweet 100", which of course is a cherry tomato! I only mention this because there are dozens of places on the internet where people allege, even insist, that the 52' vine also produced the 7.75 lb. tomato.

You have proven without question that a very small vine can produce a very large tomato! I was very impressed a couple of weeks ago to learn that you grew a 4 lb. tomato (Delicious) on an 18" vine - phenomenal and quite counterintuitive!

I, for one have lots to learn about how to grow the REALLY big ones, so I'm looking forward to learning more about your strategies and techniques.
