Hi, this is a question for regular tomatoes, not the giant kind. My tomatoes have black spots on them, why? anybody heard of this? I looked it up, it might be stink bugs or a virus. Thanks

If it is on the bottom look for blossom end rot, it as a problem with calcium deficiency. Overly wet or dry conditions can cause it.

Bacterial speck and spot can cause spots to form on the leaves, stems and fruit of tomato plants.

If they are just black spots without lesions then most likely bacterial speck is your issue.

Control for bacterial speck starts before you even grow the seeds. This disease hides within tomato seeds and is often how it is spread.

You can Soak seeds in water that is 125 F. for 20 minutes prior to planting in order to greatly reduce the possibility that the plant produces tomatoes with such an issue.

I google imaged bacterial speck and that is it, that is what my tomatoes look like, thanks.
