Your set tomato from that mega bloom looks like a five fused bloom.

Very very nice!

It depends on the strain of tomato your growing for size.

My largest growing tomato at the moment is from a six fused bloom on a Delicious plant that is from the 7.33 Hunt and 6.51 Meisner.

This particular strain creates large mega blooms quite a bit along with of course Big Zac. With each additional bloom in a fused bloom it becomes that much rarer to occur.

Your five fused bloom is rather rare along with any fused bloom above a triple I would say.

You can get even luckier by having that bloom show up on the first three feet of the plant above the soil line.

Having a bloom of that magnitude on the first three feet of the plant is like adding the power ball to your lottery winnings.

The tomato receives a large amount of nutrients before the plant does when it's located that low on the plant.

The jury is still out on the effectiveness of foliar feeding calcium to tomato plants versus the proven effectiveness of doing the same to pumpkins.

The tomato leafs stomata are open twice a day to accept nutrients via foliar. In the morning and in the evening however the question comes into play whether or not a tomato leafs stomata has the capability of moving calcium into the plant itself. It is feared that it just remains in the leaves unused.
