Hey everyone!!!
How's your season going?? Mine is good thus far. I actually have a tomato forming from a double fused bloom on one of my 4.46 Diehl plants. Unless I see a larger mega bloom form in the next couple of weeks I'm going to keep this tomato and see where it takes me.
One of the largest tomatoes from double fused bloom was over five pounds on a tomato that I saw on an Ontario Tomato Contest site. Sadly the contest no longer exists. It was the same contest that confirmed the second heaviest tomato on record Sal Consiglio's 7 pound 12 ounce monster that grew from multiple fused bloom.
So how are all of you doing????

plants continue to grow, grafted ones and regular ones. Several mega blooms are showing. I have 71 plants in giant mater patch. They are getting a weekly foliar spray along with some fungicide and insecticides. Suckers are starting to grow so looks like a full time job keeping them trimed. Cages went on yesterday.

Just had 2 plants sprout yesterday. They will be 2 weeks before they get transplanted. We do have 8 plants that are 2 weeks old. They will see dirt in another week. Good luck, Jane & Phil

I have one double fused bloom on the line. Many other plants started including a few grown in a co2 enriched environment. These have larger stems and bigger root systems than the others.

I planted seeds for my giant tomato bed on March 25th, 2 seeds each in 24 gallon pots. First seed up was MegaMarv (2.678 DT 2012) in 5 days; median was 14 days (only four had germinated after 8 days so I increased the heat); longest was 45 days [Delicious (4.78 Lorson 2012)]. One never did germinate so I substituted. Prepared the bed with a good 5" of organic matter. Transplanted 24 seedlings on May 21st. First megabloom (a 3X) opened two days later on the MegaMarv. It took and is now golf ball sized. Next most impressive is a 5X on Domingo (4.55 Wahl 2008), but still too early to know if it will take. I planted the last of my tomato seeds for the season last night, trying to fill in gaps for those varieties which did not germinate, seedlings died, or for which I did not collect seeds the past couple of years. Comes to 501 varieties. Hope to have more time to devote to giant tomatoes this year - not doing CSA's.

Dale, It's great that you chimed in!!!
You sound like your as busy as you always were. Your mega blooms sound impressive. I too have some nice large ones but due to the past four days of rain I'm concerned that some of them won't set. I currently have one tomato growing from a triple bloom on a 6.57 Boudyo plant.
We shall see. :O)
It's good to hear from you Dale!!!
