Howdy everyone!!!

Have you planted out yet??? I transplanted my plants on the 10th and 11th. Yesterday I planted my last 4.46 Diehl that had been sickly. I placed it in ICU and it came back strong.
I planted that one yesterday afternoon.

I have two more plants that need to go into the ground. One is a descendant of the 6.51 Meisner and the other is a Costoluto Genovese that I'm growing for salsa.

So where are all of you at in terms of getting your plants in their permanent homes???

Last nine will go in when the grounds dries some. These last nine just got out of the healing chamber they were grafted to Supernatural rootstock. So this gives me 17 grafted plants. The first bunch were grafted to Maxifort rootstock and were planted on May 6th. Several other ungrafted are planted as well. People here have told me to stop talking about how many I had planted. They said I had a problem and I was enbarrasing myself. SO I will not say anymore how many I have planted. If every plant has one mega bloom might take a pickup truck to haul them all. Dunkel's Turbo by the gallon!

We had 3 inches of rain and a big hailstorm yesterday and more of the same is predicted. I am still potting up. At least 2 weeks before I go in ground. Soil temperature came up to 58 degrees. Meanwhile I am building a stone wall using field stones.

A stone wall sounds nice Marv! It's definitely time for warm weather so you can plant out. I watched the weather radar for northwestern part of the state and I saw where you got hit, It appeared to be a rather nasty storm. You are much higher in altitude than I am over here on the eastern side.

Hard frost here last night, and looks like the next two nights. I am glad I waited as I was planning on putting them in last Thursday. I would have had a hard time covering them all. Soil is still cold but I think it will be Thursday of this week for me.

Good to hear Fisher! Hey you can always take some inexpensive black colored weed barrier and roll it out over your planting area's soil and tack it down with fabric pins. The dark fabric will heat the soil notably faster than not covering it. total cost would most likely be less than 15 dollars for you, Just an idea. Good to hear from you! :O)

i got my eaters in the ground to test the water before i commit,lol, too many seasons i planted early ,last 2 days of north east winds very chilly,50 last 2 days and cold ,i got 10 ready to go but gona plant tomm when the sun comes out and 2 weeks for the rest of them as they are only 6 inches tall my 7.33 hunt is going slow but steady plan on makeing 5 plants from 1 if possable and my 5.58 timms are only 6 inches tall ,should be all done in a week or 2 also need more blk cow!!! lol, pizza

quite pleased 2 tomatoes 44cmc circ 1 is 6.83 bouydo and 1 is 6.57
and 2 tomatoes 42 cms 6.01 bouydo

We'll start our seeds indoors this weekend & try to get them out in early June. It is suppose to go down to 1 degree C or @ 33 degrees F tonight. Burrr. Keep them warm.

Westham, if you are ready to weigh it then cut it from the vine. If not then leave it until you are ready to weigh it.

I saw where the Chicago area had received snow showers and having lived in Laporte IN for a year in 88 I know about the weather you people get sometimes in Valpo....I'm very sure you and everyone else is sick of all of it.

We here in eastern PA at the NJ border received enough snow this past season to place us at the third snowiest on record.

The Lake Effect is crazy around here. It is supposed to start getting warmer this week, but it looks like monsoon season is starting. Time to start hardening the plants off I guess. Better rain than snow.

I live out in Aurora, IL, west of Chicago, and the night time cold temperatures have made me a believer in patience. I follow the Farmer's Almanac as well and it has yet to steer me wrong. I rather plant when night temps are consistent for tomatoes. For my area May 28th is the date. We have several nights ahead this week with temps in the low 40's. I find little issues with viruses by waiting for those better night temps. I spend more time planning companion plantings and amending my garden soil. My garden puts out alot, so prep is priority!
