Burpee Exclusive Meet the biggest tomato ever bred! Tipping the scales at up to 3-plus pounds. Steak House is a super tomato in every way. Broad shouldered beauty is bigger than Big Daddy and loaded with true heirloom tomato flavor and head spinning fragrance. Wonder if it produces mega blooms? I think I might give it a try at least will have some nice eating maters.

I was going to mention this here as well. I just received the 2014 Burpee catalog a few days ago with this tomato strain on the front cover.
If you follow proven growing techniques such as pruning and fertilization you most likely will see examples from a single bloom growing into the 2 to 4 lb range.
My tomato growing area's are all planned out and I don't have any room for this one but it seems worth a try for someone to grow a couple of plants to see what occurs.

Be not the first nor the last. Claims sell seeds the first year. After that they either sell or they don't based on the experience of those growing them.

"Biggest tomato ever bred": that's quite a claim (I would call it a blatant lie), unless you assert that Big Zac, Delicious, Brutus Magnum, MegaMarv, and many more tomato varieties were never actually "bred".
I trialed "SuperSauce" Hybrid in 2013 - also a front-cover glitzy photo with the outrageous claim, "The world's largest sauce tomato!" My largest was 0.277 lb. - not even in the ballpark of their claim. Though 2013 was a tough year, I had at least a dozen varieties of "sauce" tomatoes which produced larger fruits under similarly bad conditions.
But I guess we're talking about the advertising world, not about science or reality.

Late in posting here. Had 20 Steak House plants last year and they did good for markets. Pretty much disease free plants. Like George stated, I don't believe I saw any mega's on mine either. Nice size tomatoes. Got a Complimentary pack of "Mortgage Lifters" sent to me from Don Landevin a few weeks ago I'm going to try. Ferry Morse Seeds, Heirloom.
