Excellent, and I'm thinking 21 inches at 30 days could very well push 4.5 lbs. or more by early October if the weather remains cool.

I've taken careful measurements on hundreds of tomatoes and tried to correlate daily growth rates with temperature and other factors. I've found that the big tomatoes seem to grow at the same rate whether the outside temperature is 60° or 90°. The difference is, for my location anyhow, that tomatoes ripen in 36-42 days from fruit set during hot weather, but can keep putting on weight for 75 days or possibly even more in cool weather.

With protection from frost, I've had tomatoes keep growing well into November at the same rate they grew in mid-September.

So take good care of it and keep us posted!

unfortunately during the recent heat wave the tomato is starting to turn. it is now sitting at 22 inches cc. will probably get it weighed this weekend or early next week. It's a very beefy looking tomato, will it go 4lbs? we will see.....
