I read the post by paul huffer. Will try the draiage pipe method. Granulated fertilizer ok? What amounts per plant per week? If granular is ok, should it be mixed and dissolved in water first? Any help is apreciated. Thank you .

Big Zac along with other strains that produce big tomatoes are best fed via foliar application.
My foliar spray schedule is as follows
BEFORE TOMATO FORMATION;
Neptune's or equivalent fish emulsion- once a week.
High phosphorus Granular bloom booster like Miracle Grows 10-52-10 every two weeks.
AFTER TOMATO FORMATION;
Neptune's or equivalent fish emulsion- once a week.
Granular 18-18-21 or similar NPK load fertilizer bi-weekly.
This is the foliar spray schedule I use that is patterned after the fert spray schedule found in Dr. Marv Meisner's book Growing Giant Tomatoes which can be found here;
http://www.amazon.com/Giant-Tomatoes-Marvin-H-Meisner/dp/0975515314
I follow what is written in this book to the letter. As a result my plants are thriving and I fully expect the tomatoes I will have to be very competitive with other's in the giant growing community.
In summery;
1. This fertilizer schedule.
2. Dr. Meinser's book.

I take a very different approach with my giant tomatoes. I feed them a half diluted 4 EC hydroponic drip from a bucket suspended near the plant. It's akin to an iv you would see at a hospital except the drip falls around the base of the plant. The formula is a revved up hydroponic tomato recipe from Howard Resh
