i live in northern mn where we can get frost up till june 1. when is the best time to start my seeds?

I start minein the house the middle to the end of may,I put outside early June. I wait till all my kins & melons are well underway plus Im growing for late weigh -offs.Im sure others start earlier.

If you have heat in your greenhouse you can start anytime you can afford to heat it. I would seal up the greenhouse around April 1st to warm the soil as much as possible. I would aim to germinate in late April and put plant in the greenhouse 7-10 days later. Look at what some of the Alaska guys do, but remember they aim for a late August weigh off, not a late September/ early October weigh off.

thanks ben.but the tomatoes are going to live outside the greenhouse.but yes i will close the greenhouse up around the 1st and get it warmed up for the pumpkins!
