I'm not in the contest but I have a mega bloom on a 4.91 Lyons that is the size of a grape and hasn't even opened yet.

I cooked my first set of starts, left cover on dome starter and put it outside after a couple popped. Fried them. Second set isnt up yet. I do have 2 of my 3.55 Sweet 2011 (7.33 Hunt * self) about 2-3ft. One in wisky barrel, other in 2 gallon, Tomato garden is muddy swamp still anyway.

My Big Zac's are just starting to create blooms. I'm also growing an heirloom variety called Uncle Mark Bagby which is a potato leafed plant that produces a large pink beefsteak.
Right now I have a huge single bloom approx the size of a nickel in diameter and is not quite ready to open yet.

I put a pic of the mega bloom off the 4.91 Lyons in the photo gallery. It's a nice nasty looking one.

One of my Big Zac plants has a megabloom. :O) Just waiting for it to mature then I'll take the electric toothbrush to it to pollinate.

I've had quite a few, but most have been fried by the heat.
Here's a "burning" question: are there any cultural practices we can employ to increase the probability that a given plant will produce megablooms?
I have a few plants that "should" be producing megablooms but are not. Not yet, anyhow.
