Since posting my tomato seed offer I have had many requests for seeds. Most of them have gone out though I have about 5 left to do. Now I am being told that some of the people I sent seeds to are selling them on the Internet. My friends on some of the other tomato sites have actually seen them being offered as 5 seeds in a packet. Also someone out there is selling Delicious seeds that I am sure are not descendants of the Hunt seeds. I am nearly out of seeds. Most of the packets had 10 seeds in them and I guess I should have only put 5 in. If you have more seeds than you need, share them with some of your buddies. I will be able to fill the orders I now have. The remainder of the seeds, other than those kept for personal use, will go to Don Langevin who wants to use them in conjunction with the book, "Giant Tomatoes" that he edited and published. I am sorry I do not have enough seeds to satisfy everyone but I can tell you I sent out many many seeds. I don't know how Phil and Jane Hunt did it last year and I have no doubt they did a better job than I in making seeds available. Someone put the card I included with the seeds which was a picture of my tomatoes along with my phone number, email etc and so I am now receiving all kinds of communication regarding seeds. Be careful if you buy seeds as they may not be what they are advertised as. Marv

its a shame if someone requests your seeds and then turns around and tries to profit off it, sad....... i would assume that most sold would be for clubs only , not personal profit... your right about phil and jane, bless them for all the work they do, and with a few idiots that they have to deal with, i guess we all will have to deal with a few as we go along, keep your head up marv, i'm in the same boat, scott

Thanks for your generousity Marv . I Hope whoever did that didn't ruin your faith in the rest of us.

The sadest part is they'll probably go to someone who doesn't realize a great seed is still just one piece of the puzzle. All be it a very significant piece.

Only a true grower would value these seeds enough to pay a decent price for them!I dont think these pirates will get far with there sales. Most growers are supporting Clubs when they pay these large sums for seeds.I wouldnt give out more then 3 or 4 to a person like Phill & Jane did.

Thanks again Dr. Marv. Sad to see this happen.

On a lighter note though, for those who don't have the book Dr. Marv H Meisner, M.D. wrote, "giant Tomatoes" it is an absolute must read for those mater lovers. Get it if you don't already have a copy.

Have a good one as always.

I am not going to actually do anything about the selling of my gifted seeds. I was just letting everyone know it happens. Also there are people out there selling Delicious seeds as though they are descendants of Phil and Jane Hunts 7 pounder when they are not. I posted just to let people know they should be careful about what they purchase and plant. I can recall paying quite a bit for the highly touted variety 6 Pound Giant to later find there was nothing at all giant about the tomatoes it grew. LOL. More than the loss of money on these things, the loss of time and effort and expectations is even worse. Larry Checkon reminded me of when he had a World Record pumpkin that had no seeds in it only to see his nonexistant seeds being advertised for sale on Ebay. Again,as I said initially, Buyer Beware! There are alot of dishonest people out there and not much you can do about them. Thats the bad part.
I have gotten a good handful of seeds from Marv and I would never dream of making $$ from them. I have traded and gave away seeds many many times. Never once did I sell a single pumpkin, squash, mater etc. seed. I moved into a new house and have a much bigger garden and i plan on planting all the seeds! :)
