Gypsum

I have adobe clay that if un-adultered you can make bricks out of... and it's notoriusly short of calcium here. I was noticing just at the far end, at the last harvest-Monday, signs of calcium was depleted...

Other will be some maple leaves and compost. I removed all tomato vines and that and bagged and trashed them, so as not to harbor anything.

Pizza: Why not make your own compost pile? Then you will have all you want and it will be free. Marv

Pizza: My garden is now ready for next season. I put about 5 inches of composted leaves on top and then tilled them in. If they had not been composted I would be out collecting bags of leaves from the peope living around me and would have tilled them in and they would be part of the soil by next season. I have a guy who does yard cleanup and he drops me off three truckloads of leaves from yards he takes care of this time of the year after my pile is used. He puts no weed killer etc on these yards. Those leaves sit in a pile with a tarp over them until this same time next year when they go on the garden and the cycle continues. The leaves are out there and they are free so go and get them. Other people use other things. I use what is available to me and it is leaves. Marv
