A little more, Treetop; it has nothing to do with your contest; but other parts of the growing world... needing a few things sorted GPC way about early weighs and weighoffs; and I'm sure they'll have it on the winter topics at convention.

What y'all have been doing is great, and just keep on doing what you're doing. No matter what here, I'm going to keep at it, growing the red ones... (and orange, and yellow, and striped, and blushed, and...)

There's no reason for the contest to end or for you to step out of it. We're still growing/showing/sharing/and caring!

You can't let one PicklePuss turn you off from the contest. Don't give up man.

Treetop: Hang in there my man. I am working on a draft of new and clearer rules for tomato contests that I will post her for comment which should quiet down anyone who wants to stir the pot. Once they are worked out I will submit them to the GPC for consideration. There is nothing wrong with adversity and it is true that what does not kill us makes us stronger. One person being ignorant and anonymous, or even two, should not be allowed to end your tomato contest. People are entitled to their opinions and should be allowed to register their complaints. Not everyone does it well. Emotion and level of intelligence comes into play. I think I was the one being atacked, not you, and since I have forgotten it, you should be able to as well. Marv

The first time my father showed me how he used to plant tomatoes for his roadside stand when he was a kid back in the 1930's, something seemed very interesting to me...that was over 40 years ago.I've grown (and sold) a lot of tomatoes since then...

I think we all do it for fun...

No one is getting rich from giant tomato prizes, so why get upset over differing oppinions of how contests should be structured..
Just have fun out there..

When people are competing for prizes or bragging rights it is important that everyone is playing on a level playing field. Having rules for competition are what make the field level. I also think you would agree that winning is more fun than losing LOL. Marv
