Thingking of next year. Looking for medium size, great tasting, good looking tomato's. Heinz, Ramapo, and goliath look good. I see Heinz has different kinds of tomatos. Any recomended for a Minnesota summer? Yes, new at growing tomato's.

As you might guess Heinz tomatoes are oriented toward the canning type the "57 varieties" refers to varieties of tomatoes I'm shure they've produced more than that. 1350 is a classic, 1439 is a little bigger and has done great by me. Most are good basic slicing and canning quality I believe they have some great Roma's too.
If minnesota is anything like here, It's all about early. My recent ( non-Heinz) favorite is sunstart.
My all time favorite for early large and marketability is jetstar.
Brandywine is a great heirloom with a very large plump juicy tomato .
too many great varieties to coose from.
Good luck deciding

Ramapo and the Rutgers tomatoes are both good.

I have been growing Goliath tomatoes in my garden for years. nice and round, crack free, baseball to softball size, nice tomato flavor. Plants do very good in the Alabama heat. Give them a try, you will like them.

Guess I was inaccuate about the "57" list
It was from the 57 products they offered in 1934 from breakfast cerial to baked beans..
Still a standy for seeds.Bet they've had well over 57 varieties of seeds over the years, but they are more commercial oriented.
Haven't tried Ramapo yet. I agree ,Rutgers it another great classic
