This year is my 1st year of giant mater growing. All in the past years I always kept all the vines and pruned only the bottom 2 feet of the plant. I have been pruning all the suckers this year on the giants but wondered should I keep only one main on these tomatoes or just worry about the suckers? My 7.33 Hunt has 3 mains on it and some crazy growth. Leaves all 3 mains?

There are many ways to do this. Here is one way. Allow you plant to have 2 main vines. The second main should be the first sucker below the first fruit cluster on the first main. All other suckers should be pruned off after they are allowed to grow one or two leaves. Of the two "main" vines you allow to grow, terminate the one that has no big tomato on it at about three or four feet. The one with your big tomato will then become, more or less, your surviving main vine. The reason for allowing two vines to be initial mains is so that you get more opportunities for megablossoms. Got it? Marv
