I too will have three 7.33's going in. One already in and two going in next weekend. Looks like this seed will be hard to find next season due to alot of growers planting it....:)

if u are going to a weighoff in oct. then mid june is good start date but im more worried about growing a giant mater than a weigh off nearest to me is 5 hours lol longwoodgardens dropped out that was 1-1-/1/2 hours from me ,so as long as the local board of weights and measures come and weighs it ill be fine with that !!! pizza

Ok guys, thanks for the info. I guess if your gonna grow 5 out 6 in the (master gardener) in our area then that leaves out the maters, if we cant get it weighed offically. HMM?? We will have to look at the weighoffs and see..

I hope this isn't too much off topic, but assuming that I'm able to purchase seeds of the 7.33 Hunt (I hope so), how long woult it take them to grow ca. two feet high? And after what period of time a mature fruit can be expected? This is my first year and I'm really uncertain, whether it still pays (for me and my climate) to buy seeds (to plant approximately middle of April).
Thanks a lot!

Could be wrong, but aren't maters allowed to be weighed off-site...and still be recognized as an official weight? Thought, that the GPC, in respect for Master Grower Award...allowed off site weights, for maters (reasoning...they get to top weight, and then go down (rot) so fast)? True? PS...rarepumpkin, if uncertain about possibilities...send an email to wsmpeace@bellsouth.net w/ yer addy & I will send a few very good (not world record) mater seeds, that you can test grow this year!!! Peace, Wayne

Bill, that would make sense. I guess they would have to have a small produce scale for smaller accuracy. We will have to ask George and Mary Anne about it??? and How much more paper work and time it adds to the people involved. Pete. was the 4.03 the one at the summer Picnic?

Hi All
It's great to hear our seeds are being planted by many of you this year. We hope they grow each of you a new PB. We only have few seeds left to give out, so if sweet1 want's a couple, please email me.
We stated our seed in early June last year. This year we are staggering the planting dates stating the last week in May, then the 1st of June & again @ June 7th. We only had 1 tomato on that plant. The new book about growing Giant Tomatoes was a big help to us all season.
So we would like to thank all the growers that are planting our seeds this season. Please email us if you have any questions. We wish you all the best. Take care & we'll see you at the weigh offs.

cheers, Jane & Phil

@Peace, Wayne Thank you very much for your generous offer, but I will only grow very few giant tomato plants this year and was curious about planting the 7.33 Hunt. I'm very happy that I was finally able to purchase two seeds of this tomato. I think in 2011 I will only grow these two and maybe one Giant Oxheart for weight. Anyway, thanks again and regards to overseas.
