Kinda strange here. The competetion plants ( I hope ) are growing like crazy but no fruit yet. Three potted plants which are quite small have tomatoes growing. The small ones are "Scotian" variety, maybe they set earlier than others.

Duane, that 3.59 is doing well here as well. I planted quite a few different tomato seeds and stuck with the best. Of those 3 are 3.59 and 2 are 3.5 Perry. Two Big Zac's are doing well also. 1- 4.29 Timm is trying to catch up to the rest.

Was going to see if I could break a state record for pink brandywines or something. Last year I had one reach 3 lbs. This year I got a gazillion maters on one plant and no megablooms. I do have one thing though....hornworms! I think I pick a tiny one off every day. I scout my mater plants up and down every day. Hoping to get one of them legendary Perry's growing for next year! :)

treetop, when are you taking new members to the GTG? I have some pictures of megablooms, not sure if they are book quality but would be willing to send them on. Maybe this isnt the right subject but would like to find out more about GTG also. SeaTac

i got one good double fused bloomed tomato on the 5.58 timm x self that is between the size of a softball and i believe by feel is over 2 pounds. still light greenish color. got one regular single bloom tomato on a brutus magnus about 1.5 pounds i would guess. i got one big zac and one gordon graham plant that are both over 12' tall. they keep getting blackened ends. i added calcium and micro nutriens to a drench and have been spraying them with fungicides, but still blackened blossom ends. still trying way up high on the plants. the stalks are silly thick when they get over 12' tall. still trying on those 2. got a single tomato finally on the other big zac that has no blackened blossom end to this point it looks healthy. trying for more megabloom. lost 3 double fused to black ends or splitting early into fruit. having fun and learning this first year and having fun with them. all my friends are reporting softball size tomatoes too with the extra plants i gave them. we will save seeds from all for the gtg with pictures and lineage verified.

I have one that I think is a double fuzed one on the first 7.18 Harp that I planted. Still waiting for more to show up. The plant is a little over 4 feet. The other plants are still growing, and they should start producing soon.

Glenn, thanks for the plug, so far fingers crossed, the plants are doing great. The last 3.59 Perry was transplanted to the primo spot where if all goes as planned, it will max out at 20 feet +. It's a long way from here to October but that's the fun of it.

When on the scale the tomato drops, that is when the bullshit stops.

Checking in, have a few tiny ones on 2.77 Lovelace and 1.32 Rinne... 7.18 Harp are just sort of sitting there, big and not wanting to set. I have a lot of time to Sept yet...

Remember we have a (walk in and weigh it) Tomato Weighoff here Thursday Sept 16th, first prize is $250.00 No frozen or lacquered entries allowed (hehehe)
