i have made enough room in the polytunnel for 15 plants, is this too much?? its for eating tomatoes not giants..

With 15 plants you should have enough for your family and plenty for canning and friends too. I grow about 30 plants in wire cages and at peak season am picking a couple bushels two to 3 times a week.

we grow around 50-60 plants every year, family of 10, we never have enough tomatoes, always run short, maybe this year we will plant 80-100. Large itialian family though, tomatoes go quickly here. I think a normal family would be fine with that many plants

bryan, in a "normal" italian famili of six we use 200 plants... but you know..every day we use salsa!

You need at least one paste tomato plant per person, 2 is more like it... :) and that's just for seasonal eating needs! Hehehe
