i was thinking after reading one of the ads, why dont we start keeping recordes of our tomato seeds, maybe starting with offical size,shows won,ect. then guys can look for the genes you want and build on that. what do ya say. GLEN/treetop

Thanks captain, i wish to start a list of growers for 2010, all of them keeping there records for the season with pics and wts OFFICAL AND UNOFFICAL,and seeds the have to trade or give, i think it will get use started in the right way, in a sort time youll be able to look up peds. the same as ag. i think its needed the same as are AG, youll start to see the sizes get bigger and bigger it worked for AG and LG. I have talked to a few guys that said tomato guy wont give up the genes, i say they can stay out then, the growers on the list will start growing bigger, guys sign up here ,ill be glad to start it out and watch it grow, GOD BLESS, GLEN/treetop

I would like to hear from you guys as how you would like it to work. i think o start we keep it simple, we each can post our diaries here, so you can use it from start to finish or just at the end to show your tomatos size numbers, was it an easy grow or hard ws it dry or wet,height of plant,fast growth or slow, strains and crosses or for the first years just you name and weight offical and unoffical. But i do think jan.first be a cut off date,if they cant make up there mind by then they have to wait till next year. but you guys let me know anything you want to do, i will donate a plac to the largest of the season. i will post above a list just put your name down so we can start keeping a count, GOD BLESS, treetop

Several weigh-offs are now weighing in tomatoes along with their pumpkins, and with the new "GPC Master Gardener Award" I can see the GPC getting more involved in the record keeping of Giant Tomatoes, along with other Giant vegetables.

One thing I did notice is that on the GPC stats pages for tomato records not many people are including the parentage of the tomatoes they are weighing which would greatly help track these genetics much more accurately.

WOW, glad to hear from everyone this thing is growing fast, we will close the list jan 1 2010 .at that time ill get everones e mail, and try to keep track of everone and maybe stir the pot just a little, keep your diaries, keep track of what your crossing , pics. are great if your going for the giant of this group get pics of you weigh ins, if your in this for a good time keep you weights the best you can,crosses you make, it will just list a uaw. trust me there are more than a few great AG out there that are uaw and are some of the greats, take 845 BOBIER how many times do you see the name pop up in peds. a ton.i plane on both if they grow i will have weights and pics of he weigh offs, but i will also be going to some pumpkin and tomato fest and fairs that will be uow, also remimber if your out of the country is just to much to send a trophy, if you win ill put you in the spot light for sure but we will have to come up with something else for you guys. and there are a few names on here that are not on the official sign in on to as G.T.G list your name if you want in or you wont be counted.. im going to close this page so no more posts please on this page, send me you email or ? when ever you wish before JAN 1 2010 Also i cant promise but im thinking of putting together this group and there stories,pics together in a hillbilly type flyer/magazine so take good pics.also we will put together a seed list for the swaps and trades. id like to say GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND BLESS EACH AND EVERY GARDEN AND THE FAMLIES GROWING THEM, THIS PAGE IS ( closed) sign ups are up top here listed as G.T.G deerartist@comcast.net

Reminder to y'all in Colorado, down here in Boise City we do have weighoff, and you get two chances. One is mid Sept and we give out trophies and prizes; one is mid Oct and we verify any other veggie and fruit at our pumpkin weighoff. 2010 we hope to get them properly submitted to GPC as well.

You can count me in, we aren't the P&T Grower Club for nuttin! (we started with tomatoes, we're still closet tomatoaholics here :D)
