Hey Guys, I'm trying to expand my knowledge on how to grow giant vegetables, and I thought this year I would try out watermelons along with my giant tomatoes, pumpkins, AG, and cabbage. However i have never tried watermelons and i need to know everything. Start dates, good seeds, plant care, pollination, temperatures for soil and air....ect, ect. I live in Oregon, and so i probably don't have the best climate for them.... I'm sure I can change that through a greenhouse setup, but I would like to know as much as possible to give me the best shot. If you know of any good articles or places I can read up on them let me know! If you want to email me any info you can at Ahendersen@oldmillfeed.com (Hendersen is "sen" not "son") I really appreciate all the help!
Thanks,
Andy

I have heard on several occasions about melons being grown on a raised platform. Reasons for & instructions would be a great help. Peace, Wayne

Step 1...raise bed with good dirt

step 2 - enjoy benefits of raised bed via extra (raised amount) of drainage otherwise if talking about raised melon platform melon itself sits on the local big box hardware store shelving isle works
