Subject: Vine cracks

Found a couple of cracks that run parallel with the vine on the main vine of my 251 Kent today. Not very deep,and looks as if they are a couple days old. Plant was sprayed thoroughly with Dacanil yesterday. Is this normal?

I think they are most likely growth cracks and not a disease. If so, it is normal and they should heal just fine. Do you have a picture ? My 119.5 Masterson and my 229 Edwards both have growth cracks at the stump and they are healing up just fine.

Even broken vines will do pretty good most of the time if given a chance. They have a way of healing up and going on with their business.
