Well we know Mr Bartoli's were. Those of you that grew grafted plants, how did you do? Did you grow any traditional plants?

Only had traditional here.

I will graft if I'm not to busy growing kins & squash.I panicked & pulled mine up when it wouldnt set fruit & the stump was turning brown.

I don't want to stir up the debate again, I'm just curious what the top 10 or 20 list of 2012 "grafted" looks like.

Mine were all grafted. The ones grafted onto Shintosa Camelforce did not work out good due to disease problems. But my personal best went from 207 to 228 using a grated plant. I certainly want to go this route in the future. If a graft can grow a world record, that is all I need to know to believe it must be a good practice.

what do you get when you cross a watermelon with a pumpkin and cantelope?

a watkintelope ( it long, its low, it has skin like a cantelope,tastes like a melon and has funny looking indentations all over it.--- splits easy to.

Dave, I believe the % of grafted melons in the top 20 will increase every year for the next few years. I want to again thank Nathan Okorn for his pioneering work in helping bring grating to the forefront of Carolina Cross growing.

It's like anything else westham, it is easy once you learn how to do it. When you first begin you may lose most of your graft attempts.
