Hey guys, I was searching for watermelon forums and yours was the first to pop up.

I have 20-30 acres that I'd like to plant in watermelons. I'm a seasoned organic farmer, but know practically nothing about growing watermelons. Most of the growing guides on the internet are for people simply wanting to plant a few in their backyard for personal use, as opposed to several acres or more.

Can anyone point me towards some good articles, websites, or forums that would teach me the basics?

Do you have a market for that many melons ? It sounds like a really serious amount.

I have a friend that sells about 5,000 a year out the back of his truck for 2-3 dollars a melon. I'd like to see if I could pull off the same thing. Alabama is perhaps the best market in the USA for selling watermelons...people down here can't eat enough. Problem is I have zero experience growing Melons, as most of my experience is in greens and small fruits.
