when pollinating a female do u have to wait for the blossom on top to open up, ive been watching the same female for a few days now and it doesnt seem to want to open, i would hate to miss it, its 9ft out on the main vine

The stigma is inside the female flower and receives the pollen from male flowers that have opened up. You absolutely do have to wait.
