My roots are out about 2 feet long and 4 inchs deep on my 274 plant, the plant does't have a runner yet about a week off from that. The bad news, i cliped my roots a little bit on one root. Be aware the roots can be 30 inchs out if useing myko and other root growing products with out the plant haveing a runner.

TILLER ,and then i had my hand in the dirt checking something and found the root cliped. I think the plant will be fine it was one root, but i don't want to clip any roots , nor do i want some one else to clip a root. I will get my work done a stop tilling any were near them.

Mark after you had runners last year you put out some kelp meal and cliped a root is that correct ? How far from the runners were you digging?

The roots will always be ahead of the plant I was out like 10 feet from stump.Vines were like 7 feet long,I also stepped on a backup for the 260.5.it was much larger at birth then the 260 was but I dont think that matters much,They dont use that on a kins as a gauge do they?Or Do they??Yes your right,Be very very careful those rascally tillers will shoot you in the foot!

Thats right and the one running the tiller will do the same thing lol. I am not much of a pumpkin grower only one so far ,but what ever the plant is i think you always pick the best looking one unless their is a difference in genetics , it worked out good for you so it does't matter. Good luck and good growing.
