Number one seems to convey the web-site, the initials, the name of the club and has a nice picture of a big, fat watermelon.Number 4 is nice but the melon pictures looks too fake to me.The yellow stars on the other 2 just don't have any appeal to me. Will you do a runoff vote if one of them doesn't get at least 50% ?

I like 1 and 4. The Backward G in number 4 throws me off a little bit. It's a fun style, I guess.

If there is something that you don't like on one of the logos (except for #4 - that one isn't my creation!), I can easily change it. For instance, if you like #2 but don't like the star in the background, I can get rid of it!

After the vote ends, I will scan in and give it a shot at sewing out the design. I can do minor tweaks with color choice as well (trust me they make a LOT of colors of machine embroidery thread out there)

In case people want to see I put a real melon in the letters of #4. Cartoony is good too, but you might like this. It's from a photo of a CC I took this year. If you want to see it where do I email the attachment too?

Oh, and I think Peace Wayne's "Grow 'em big" is just a tad better than "growin big melons" for the bottom of the logo.

Whoa, I toggled back and forth between the cartoony melon(#4) and the natural melon I put in and the lines match up almost exactly, crazy. I actually think you'll like it. I know how you like looking at your melons, so this just feels right when you see it. maybe?

I like #4 the best but I would think the second "G" could be worked in to where it is not backwards. I have a friend that does this for a living, I can ask him to come up with something but I'm sure it would take him a while to work it in. As for a tag line, how about "Growin' em BIG"??

Besides the stars not looking very appealing in #'s 2 and 3, the melons go not have the elongated shape of the variety we grow. I think the melon shape should bear a closer resemblance to an actual Carolina Cross watermelon.

Yes, I totally agree that the logos would be better if they featured a watermelon that actually looked like one that we grew. The problem is: you can't find a standard stock graphic image of a Carolina Cross melon! Unless a member gave us permission to use one of their melons in the graphic? :)

I have a suggestion. There are many good suggestions on this thread that should be considered. Take the suggestion and start another thread that incorporates them into 2 - 4 options. Have a thread that starts fresh when ever you decide to take a final vote.
There are a couple more things to consider:
Is this the GWG logo forever?
Is this the GWG logo that will change every year?
I suggest that if you are going to make patches, that you keep the patch design something that will stand the test of time, kind of generic in nature but has great meaning to the person who has earned it.
If you want to have a catchy phase, then you can have a new logo or theme every season if you want.

No it wont change every year,this is a long term logo.unless Club decides to change it.We can alter message at bottom for a patch if needed,or not have website on patch just Logo!The problem is,when you have this many people,you may never come to a agreed on logo,We seem to have a lot that like #4.We need to move forward,auctions,seed packing,newsletter,we need to put legs on these new flyers from Geat White!We would like all members to print flyer & post at your local supplier,hardware,grow room.greenhouse etc.If we all try to grow the GWG,it will happen, soon.Thanks Mark
