1st Place, 1st Place, and 1st place. Congrats to Brother Dave for taking all 3 first places in the giant growing contest at the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville. His first place melon went 209 pounds, his first place pumpkin went 517 pounds and his 1st place squash weighed in at 604 pounds. Congratulations again Dave on a very good year.My melon gained 2 pounds in the day between the Tennessee State fair and the Tennessee Valley Fair and weighed in at 177 pounds. :-)

I brought a 207 lb melon thinking that no one would have one over 200. My thought was if someone did, they would have gone to nashville with it & Dave surely took his biggest to nashville, right. Well it didn't work quite the way i thought ! LOL !!
At least the 209 he brought was grown on the 35 kent. As was his 207 from Nashville !
