went out today to measure my melons and two of them hadnt gained anything in a week. I traced the vines back and something has chewed the vines into. I put out rat poison for the last two weeks because i was finding side runners being chewed on. now i am not sure if it is mice or maybe rabbits. I am ready for next year

I wonder if the rodent poison doesn't drive them to chew more desperately in search of water until they die? I had no choice but to use it around my chicken coop and the nearest melons are pock marked like I have never seen. Melons further away have nothing.

luckily the mice here in Mo like my drip tape better than the vines! Every time I turn the water on I have to plug several new holes!
