I have made a promise to the media and the USDA not to reveal the weight before the weigh-off, Final stats were 62.25 girth, 38.5 lenght. the weight contains a decimal point and 0,1,2,3
First one to guess the right weight gets some seeds.
Hope to see everyone in Franklin County tomorrow..

Well the 291 did have a hollow spot.Perhaps if Big Daddy is solid.....
The thing is the 291 went very heavy by the OTT chart so Big Daddy would have to go even heavier to break 300 pounds as it's not be nearly as long or girthy as the 291 was. I guess we'll find out soon though.

Looks like the best guesses are already taken.
What the heck....300.12 (Wouldn't that be something, over 300 be less than a couple of oz?)

I have read and kept as a favorite of mine your story that was done by the alabama farm co op.That was a nice 195 pound melon in that pic as well.I knew that your name would come out again sooner or later. In reading your story you are very knowledgeable and persistant. The same qualitys that made me believe you would have a huge impact in the advacement in this"hobby".Whatever the weight you have already shown you deserve this...YOU GO CLIFF !!!!

282.5
I plugged the two numbers he gave us into my tables. By girth there are 17 larger melons that I have tracked, and their average weight is 237.7
By straight length there are 9 melons bigger, and their average weight is 229.5.
As for proximity, the closest in the tables have some impressive weight. For instance Bright has a 268.8 with like characteristics.
I believe it comes down to density and shape.
