Two oldest melons came off for end rot. Neither had a properly developed blossom end anyway so that may have contributed.
It's so late, that's actually a bigger concern to me than the BER at the moment, a melon could avoid BER, but still not grow to full potential because the shift into autumn will begin in less than 60 days.
Oldest melon now is about 23 days old, with OTT of only 83 7/8" yesterday. It's gaining about 1" and change OTT a day.
Also have a pear shape melon, 8 1/4" long, about 9 days old.
Best prospects among younger melons is a fine-shaped youngun that taped 6 1/4" yesterday and about 2 inches in cross sectional diameter. Not sure about age. Will try to get a pic.
I've tried to keep the grass off the melons, but the plant keeps outrunning me.
