Rookie here -- rookie in more ways than you can imagine so my question(s) may be old hat to you pros -- be patient, please. Have placed sand cushions under several melons that later became culls. Noticed several had small, circular brown spots with slight indentations where fruit was in contact w/sand...possibly a fungal infection? If so, would treating sand with a fungicide(s) then allowing sand to dry B4 placement be benefical or harmful? TIA, Clutch

It is hard to say what is going on with out pictures of the circular spots. Keeping the fruit dry is very important to prevent it from rotting. Also remember that fungicides won't cure an existing infection they can only prevent further spread of the fungus. It is a prevention and not a cure.
