My giant pumpkin seeds have been in soil for 8 days the first five the soil and room was 18 Celsius I raised the temperature and added a heat mat 3 days ago they didn’t rot but the seed coat was softer and darker one of the seeds look the same now the other three I didn’t check and one seed was firmly locked in the ground mabe it started root griwth Should I be worried?

18 C is far to cool for good pumpkin seed germination. I do my germinations at 27 to 29 C

optimal is 85-90F (30C for me) and don't oversaturate

Yeah try around 80. They'll be very slow in the 60s

88 F to 92 F, and it's better to be on the high end of that.
Even I was reducing it from 94 and now, in the Zone. Surprised, but hey, no pressure,
that you didn't depict it all on here (like after the video, which was fun) and glad that that one is showing that it is sprouting!
Good Luck---eg

A disclaimer: In my experience you dont want to go too high temp. when also using a heating mat. They could actually get too hot... It's happened to me. I dont know if your heating mat has a thermostat or what, mine didnt.

To add on to what Ketchup stated, use a separate thermometer in the growing chamber that is not directly on the heat mat. The heat mat will say one thing, but the soil temp a couple inches up in the pot is usually cooler.

I never go off what my mat thermostat is set at.

Once you find something that works, stick with it and stay consistent
