It was mentioned in the Atlantic article that Wizzy posted. Are growers actually using it? I have always thought it might be something useful.... but extremely high risk, possibly high reward.

Why do they put stuff like this in these kinds of articles? Is it a type of journalistic "click bait" to add mystery and intrigue? Either it is a misdirection, or it is real.

Very commonly used, several products I use contain the acid. I don't necessarily notice it doing anything good nor bad.just my 2 cents
