How do I select my amendments? Nothing listed in the drop down? Is there a tutorial video on how to navigate this calculator? Would be a great video for someone to produce if there is not already one. Please help out an old man with limited computing skills. Thanks.

Is there a source to download the calculator? I tried all the links I could find and they go back to Team Pumpkin's website; however it does not appear to be functional any longer. I am on a new computer and wanted to get a new copy.

It is my understanding that the Langley calculator was developed around using lab data from the eastern Modified Morgan testing method. While an Ohio/Colorado calculator uses the Mehlich 3 method, as does the Intelligent Gardener Worksheet.
The Modified Morgan and Mehlich 3 test methods utilize two different (aggressive) extraction solutions. Mehlich 3 uses a very strong unbuffered solution of acetate, ammonium nitrate, ammonium fluoride, nitric acid, and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid EDTA to dissolve nutrients in the soil sample. Modified Morgan uses Sodium Acetate+Acetic Acid + EDTA. This is not nearly as aggressive as Mehlich 3.The Mehlich 3 method aggressively extracts even tightly bound P that is not normally available to plants. This results in Mehlich 3 values being higher than Morgan's P therefore, overstating the amount of immediately plant available P.
The theory behind the Modified Morgan test was to develop an extraction solution that would reflect the amount of nutrients from the soil that a plant can get. In short, to mimic acid rainfall and root exudates. The theory is that there is little point in using a very strong acid test to extract nutrients from the soil that are not immediately available to the plant.
The weak acid modified Morgan extract is the standard test used by most Land Grant Universities in the Northeast. University of Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine and Connecticut, Rhode Island and Cornell use this test. The Universities of New Hampshire, Rutgers, Delaware and Penn State use the Mehlich 3 test.
Which test method to use is surely debatable by some readers. Particularly when introducing the Saturated Paste Test method.

Check the BuildASoil website for the calculator that uses the Standard Test (Mehlich 3) and Logan Labs. BuildASoil Open Source Soil Test Calculator Version 1.5.4 Jeremy Silva on 03/16/2022. It is interesting to play around with the various programs and worksheets. Most important is that the various lab results are not interchangeable.
