All four of my plants have the vine growing out of the midsection of the new leaf stem. The leaf stem is about 12 inches long and the continuation of the vine is like I mention half way up. What would cause this situation and on all my plants. The vines are about 15 to 20 inches inches long.

You may know all this butt here goes:
Seed sprouts and has two 'seed leaves'
From between these seed leaves immediately emerges a
'first true leaf' that will become nearly as big as each of the seed leaves; Soon after, a second true leaf appears opposite the first and in time, as I THINK is happening for you, the vine itself becomes a series of leaves that are all attached to the material opposite the 1st TL. I just had one in my hand so I think I got it right, as far as my OWN plants go.

Beyond that, 'wee'd' hafta get you well-versed at putting pictures in your diary to see more closely what your plants are doing. I hope it is just plants being plants!

Might be a lack of zinc? I've heard this causes abnormal fusing on tomato leaves but I suspect there could ve other cofactors. Out of curiosity, has your ground had an herbicide or glyphosate applied to it in the past?

No weed control has been used on this area. But the plants have at least 5 leaves on them. The vine tips are growing straight up midway in that leaf stem. And they're as mention 12 or better inches tall and a leaf of 10 inches across. I wouldn't be able to keep the vines touching the ground. It's almost like the leaf stem should have been the vine and the vine tip the leaf. It sounds weird but that's what it looks like. I've been growing pumpkins for some time but never seen anything like this.

What seed stock did you use. All four doing the same thing sounds genetic. Like a pumpkin/zucchini cross.
