Anybody have any luck shipping seeds to Germany from the U.S.? I've had two packages returned to me from German customs as "Refused". I did declare them as "Pumpkin Seeds". Would love to hear some success stories.

We have an auction bubble missing that was sent out 2 months ago? Last year I had a couple of personal bubbles that are still missing. Seems like this is another country that we can't exchange with. We did get a successful auction bubble to Switzerland but we had to get a phytosanitary certification in order for that to happen.

Might be useful - I got EGVGA seeds FROM there although I had given up on them; then, the next day...eg

Thanks guys. That phytosanitary cert may be the key.

I had one bounce back from there. It's going to keep getting worse.

We just had a grower from South Korea that sent all necessary documents such as Import/Phyto etc prior to sending his seeds, at his expense. Worked last year no problem, see what happens in next couple weeks? Not sure what's involved on their end but something to consider for clubs in future. Such as Germany if the buyer could arrange it on their end?

I sent seeds to Germany back in December for their seed auction. I put "garden supplies" in the declaration. The clerk said it needed to state exactly what was in the package and added "pumpkin seeds" to the declaration. It went through with no problem. Recently, I tried sending seeds to Sweden, (same deal as above) and it got rejected.

That's funny, 'cause I checked to see what the seed envelope(s) stated in order to say 'being specific is key' and yet, mine also simply said 'garden supplies';
I still think that when DECLARING postal contents they should be as true, honest and detailed as possible. If you cannot trust one, you certainly cannot trust ALL. We should all/each invest in an
'Atlantic Giant Pumpkin Seeds - Important Ones!' postal stamp;
Postal clerks would go 'What the...?' lol---eg

The USDA informs me, we need to list the specific tariff code for Pumpkin Seeds on the declaration form. The seed package must have the Cucurbita Maxima on the seed package, QTY of seeds, along with the original source of the seed. I still have some stopped and refused.

Tried to send seeds to Germany in January. Tracking says still being “held in customs”.
