Has anyone had any major success growing in 360 sf or less? I've got 800 sf, but would like to divide it to accommodate 3 plants, and for the largest plant I will only be left with 360 sf. Growing in an elementary school this year, my parents said everyone would be happy with 50 pounds but I want at least 500 lol. Would 360 sf work, and has anyone had any major success with it?

Your plan sounds good to me. If you can grow a 50 lb field kin where you are at then you should be able to grow a 500 lb Atlantic giant, those results are approximately equivalent. Good luck.

The 1092 Burke world record was grown in 400 sq ft. That success raised the square footage question/subject big time.

That scene is tremendous. I'm thinking of growing ANYthing in my very-shaded front yard to make use of the front banks and the nearness to the house; 'Here, buy this 700-pounder and I'll just roll it onto your truck!'. In 150 SF, watch someone grow a 2908 -
a pumpkin so huge that just 3 or 4 leaves are sticking out from under it, that's all! eg

You can grow a good one on a small plant. But you better have that soil in excellent condition to take care of the fewer roots you'll have available to power things.

500 is totally doable. I am no world class grower but everything I have grown has been in less than 360 sf. I have grown 14 over 500 11 over 600, 7 over 700, 5 over 800, and one over 1200. My personal best was grown in about 220 SF next to my driveway. What is in your soil and your growing technique is far more important than your square footage. If you don't have those two things dialed in, it doesn't matter how big your plant is.

2363 was not grown in 400 ft. It was oa short 10 ft from the stump though!!!
Thats the story I heard, anyhow!

I did 1769lb in 500 sq ft last year so 500lb is certainly doable in 360

In 314 Sq Ft (...a 20 ft diameter patch) William Warncock grew his World Record 403 in 1904 and entered it at the St Louis Worlds Fair. Oops I'm showing my age.
