Do any of the clubs purchase liability insurance for the weigh-offs? I could imagine an injury to a spectator could put the club (and the sponsoring business) in some jeopardy. There are one day event policies which run from $50 to $100.
Thought? Recommendations? Thanks.

When you rent a hall in Washington the venue will require liability insurance. I had to do this in October and the cost was $110.00. I would definately suggest it, MLH

I’m a grower and own an insurance agency. I’d be happy to help anyone put something like this in place. I typically work with large business but would be happy to help where I can. If there was an injury to a volunteer there could be liability there as well.

We are required by our Weighoff location host, to buy additional event insurance for our event.

It might be worth looking into getting a carrier on board to run the show on these events and make it very easy to obtain coverage. Everyone will likely get a significant discount on what they pay by themselves. Does anyone know roughly how many events per year? My website is www.Fulldrawins.com and you can find my number there if anyone has info or questions.
All locations should really be asking for a certificate of insurance which just shows the event insurance in place and also lists the venue as an additional insured.
Thanks!

Wizzy, this may be a great way to get a portion of the premiums paid donated straight back to the growers of the event. Happy to discuss and help wherever I can!
