Just remember that the PO defines a bubble as a package. Rates are based on weight and distance. Cheapest cost will likely be 4.80 if you're mailing to your neighbor and 5.60 if you're sending across the country. Go above 4 oz. and prices start to climb quickly. To get exact cost use this easy calculator- https://postcalc.usps.com/

If you print postage from Paypal or stamps.com.Pay pal is Free no monthly fee. You save about 1.00 cheaper then post office. I mail 100s of bubbles a year. The discount is not based on volume.I was mailing from Flordia last winter & was shocked to pay the extra dollar per parcel.Print at home save a dollar & stick it in the mail box & put the flag up & save another 2$ in gas.

If you’re lucky your post office will let you send it as regular letter mail and not a package (if you don’t mind not having tracking). I just sent sends to Ruben and it cost $1.40

Mr. Dibble, :) If you send it as regular letter mail, will the envelope be put through rollers, rather than being hand-stamped as they are when sent as a package???

Here’s a link to calculate postage.

If a small 4x6 bubble is less than 1/4” thick and under 1oz. You can ship it anywhere in the US for 1 stamp. And as mentioned earlier worldwide for 3 stamps.

Yes they do go through the postal machines, but If it’s under the 1/4” it won’t damage anything! I have shipped hundreds of seeds all over the world with zero seeds being damaged.

I understand some growers have had issues in the past with postal machines, but with small bubbles and seed packages (not on top of each other in the bubble) or (multiple seeds on top of each other in one package) you won’t have any issues. They only break if seeds are on top of each other.

Our postage rollers out here are more like 3/16. Believe me I am a cheap b@$tard and if I thought it could be done for less I would be all for it... be a patriot, help support our government ;)

My theory is, its actually the speed and the inertia of a heavy roller that cracks them. Its usually the first seed to go through that bears the brunt. The rollers arent set at 1/4 inch... they are set at 0.0" and they have to move apart. Everything gets a gentle squeeze but even a gentle squeeze... at the speed they go at... is enough to crack a seed or two. I have overthought this already.

I can send a bubble with 2 stamps. What I do, is I put a small amazon bought bubble in a regular envelope with a single stamp. Once I got it returned because I was 5 cents short, so since then I have been using 2 stamps on each piece. With a little more than 2 dollars and a nice note, you can get seeds with the potential to grow a WR!
