I haven't downloaded the GPC due to a lack of data, but I've recorded what I've seen. Please review the page and identify any errors.

How can the two disqualified pumpkins be records? Don't you have to get it to an official scale intact for it to be considered a record? E.g., If you had the largest pumpkin grown in Michigan, but it got to the scale damaged could it still be the state record. Please clarify the protocol.

By the way - not at all questioning the validity just trying to understand.

Duncan I told you that neither Ian or I said this but you still persist in posting this “The brothers who planted the pumpkin in a greenhouse in April said it was the first time they used peat moss instead of organic manure as fertilizer. The twins run the Pinetops nursery in Lymington, New Forest.“
Can you please remove this from your website as it is incorrect.

Both great questions Ganwolf - Not once did I state a disqualified pumpkin held a state, or country record. I have listed DMG pumpkins along with undamaged pumpkins for any State or country record providing recognition of a large DMG pumpkin. Don't forget I'm not a GPC-controlled website but have been providing records for over 20 years. If you look at the top 10 pumpkins, I list two DMG pumpkins because they have exceeded the pumpkin weight of #10. I also state they are DMG but I don't say they are a record. STuP you don't communicate with me personally and I've reached out to you three times privately without a reply. I don't monitor the replies of bigpumpkins.com, but I will honor your request. I do see the reply on bigpumpkins, but you have my email and you could have requested support via my email or domain. The change will be made today.

Ganwolf - Let's look at examples how I address DMG
If you scroll down the record page, you will see Kentucky, Wisconsin and UK addressing the pumpkin weights for a DMG pumpkin. I also provide the current SOLID pumpkin record weight.
As for Mike Schmit DMG 2520, this pumpkin is provided visibility due to its weight within the Top 10. It's a nice pumpkin. The same applies to Paton 2907 pumpkin, it's the largest, but Guinness wouldn't accept it because it isn't solid. I would like to ensure it gets the visibility it deserves.

Duncan, thanks for the explanation. For sure both were great pumpkins and I know how hard it is to get one to the scale. That's evidenced by how relatively few show up to the weigh offs. I guess I assumed your info was GPC sanctioned. Now I understand the "poetic license" for lack of a better term.
