I believe as it stands, the top ten average so far is 2498lbs. That's an amazing improvement over previous years. Question is, is someone going to weigh one over 2423lbs and bring it up to 2.5k?
Epic stuff, congrats to all the growers

We still have the Terminator weigh-off coming up and Steve Daletas has taken his biggest there at least some years in the past… this brings to mind something I noticed in the results so far: a conspicuous absence of 2191 Uhlmeyer offspring. That 2191 is 2469 Daletas x 1911 Urena, so essentially the reverse pedigree of the 2183 Mendi and it was 17% heavy and about 200lbs bigger than the next biggest 2469 offspring ever. I thought for sure it would be planted more than what the results indicate so far.

I planted two 2191's but neither did well in the gallon pots, the 1760's looked better so I planted them instead. Having said that, I thought more people would be planting both of those Uhlmeyer seeds. Great genetics in both IMO.

From what I've heard, the Daletas 2469 has been a challenging plant for some. Some of this is first-hand information for what it's worth. It is a popular pollinator; I used it for pollinating my 906 in 2021. (1,791 Werner x 2,469 Daletas). Wonder if that has caused some growers to pause over the Uhlmeyer seed.

@KC Kevin dunno about that I got my PB with the 2469 a couple of years ago and a new PB this year with the 2191 Uhlmeyer which fwiw I found to be very resistant to heat/sun damage. But anyway, with many of these things you need to take a large sample size to determine exactly what's what and unless many people have grown those seeds it's all anecdotal.

Light to chart genetics are easier to get something to the finish line it seems.

It has been very warm, pretty much summer-like in the pacific northwest this fall. Maybe someone has a 2500 lber for Terminator that they kept on the vine this long because it's still growing.

KC is right about the 2469 and this has been confirmed by the grower of the seed. Many, many have struggled but some have done really well off this seed. Its become one of those great pollinators seeds for going heavy to chart.;) Sounds like you did well Gerald! Congrats on that!!
What a great year and so many personal bests out there this year!

It's higher than 2498. Look at my record page. You need to grow 2517.7 lbs to be in the Top 10 https://www.backyardgardener.com/garden-forum-education/pumpkins/pumpkin-records/

I'm talking about for the year 2022 Duncan, not all time. My number is correct.
