First off I have to give credit where credit is due.
Mr. Joseph House, you are single handedly the reason for today. Your selfless gesture of I would much rather give my 1885 to someone who can do it justice. I hope I did it justice and yes it was ugly ;)
Second, Scott and Emmet, man you guys are seriously class acts! Saw one comment that said you hoped your record gets beat for a new world record from the US. I didn't get it but learned immediately you made a call to kelly show and said there is another guy who squeeked us by 6 pounds. Your pumpkin is amazing, orange and shows well, enjoy the limeight you guys! Steve Daletas, what a guy! Learned so much about harnessing pumpkins and feel terrible I edged you narrowly twice now. You are always so greatful and just an awesome guy to weigh off against, can't wait to waterski with you next summer!
Lastly all the growers who have been pushing this sport! Everyone is raising the bar and so supportive and happy for one another. It's simply incredible and I wouldn't be here if you didn't pave the way!
Thanks for all the kind words it was a fun year no doubt and I can't wait to see what the future brings...

Congratulations Travis. You beat the odds of having your plant wrecked by the unpredictable May weather in MN where we had multiple nights of freezing temps, multiple days in 85+ degree days, and 3 hailstorms in 2 weeks.

Travis, what you've done with that pumpkin is incredible. Any grower seeing her damaged as a child would have cut her, your strength, and decision, was incredible. Congratulations for the record of America, and for your triumph in hmb. Congratulation.
