My plant was coming along nicely good progress on the pumpkin, but now all my new leaves are tiny, less than 4” across, and I am not sure why. They look very sickly and the edges are dried up and brown. This is happening on most but not all of my secondary vines. I have removed the worst looking parts, but am not next steps. My only thought is this could Be some weird strain of powdery mildew I haven’t seen before, so I will likely try treating for that as an initial step.

Do you have any pictures. It could be a lot of things, SOme that come to mind would be herbicidal damage, virus, damage from fertilizer or nutrient. Have you added or done anything recently that could have caused this?

Nahh, hold off on treating for anything when you don't know yet what it is. Powdery mildew generally affects leaves that are full-sized mainly to begin with (and LOOKS like powdery mildew) and I don't feel that leaf size/edges are affected in newer growth. Down the road for you, I am using Mildew Cure from Holland's Land o' Giants (gets dropped shipped from the mfr. but whatever) and I am dealing with PM right now and using that. I am sure it's working but it's only been a few days since the treatment. As was said, pics are a big help and good luck---eg
