Ron I feel your pain as I lost my biggest last Thursday. You grew the biggest OTT Atlantic Giant ever 489 inches a feat no one else can claim. Every year is a learning experience and most likely what you learned this year will certainly lead you to your goal of 2,500 pounds congratulations Ron!

Sorry to hear this Ron. Best of luck to you a pap with the remaining pumpkins. Hopefully they will surprise you and go considerably heavy. I imagine loosing your biggest one is quite disappointing, but the picture of you and the lifting crew is great! Friendship is priceless.

So, so sorry she went down Ron but she must of been one heck of a ride!

That fruit was just days away from 2500! I have a hunch 2500 will be coming out of your patch in the very near future.

over the past twenty seven seasons ron and i have experienced many times the highs and the lows that go along with this quest for the worlds largest pumpkin.

at times we have won when we never expected it and lost days even hours before heading off to compete.

to remain content in this hobby?you need to be able to accept victory as well as defeat with the same attitude.

my take is this "the ride is more important than the destination". its great to get there but its also great seeing those monsters grow and, never forget all the friends you connect with each and every season.

thats what our hobby is all about.
our best to everyone.

thanks, pap
