I have mentioned this before but there are so many pumpkin seeds being grown and some not even documented that when I read many diaries, I have no idea what seed they are growing. Perhaps thats not the point, maybe its just to see how people are doing in general.I do really like to read everyones diary I always enjoy them. Dave

I usually find what seed they are growing in the first few entries.

I agree with Dave. I wish everyone would put what seed/plant they are talking about or showing when they make a diary entry. And not the cute or A$$ kickin' name they invented for it. But its not a perfect world or my world. So, some will prefer to make entries that say things like: "This is my Bobo the Clown Pumpkin, Bobo is grown from a seed from my Hannah Skywalker Warrior Princess pumpkin from last year and was pollinated with my neighbor's plant that is a seed from his Hemi-powered Axe of Death Pumpkin from 2006. I was on a family vacation in LaLa Land at pollination time, we go every year the first week of July, because thats when the CooCoo Birds migrate. Anyway I had the hobo who lives behind the dumpster at my sons elementary school, that we call Mr. Bo Jangles, do it. He always smells like malt liqour and urine but I gave him 10 bucks so I hope he got it right."
Those of us with the overly analytical minds love those kinds of entries. <--Sarcasm I'm sure the people who make those types of entries find diaries like mine to be very boring. Neither is right or wrong. To each their own I guess.

If I really thought I had a shot at growing a big one then, yes, I would put up the seeds stats. But for Me and probally the biggest part of us on here,I just enjoy walking out to the garden and seeing something that I planted and growing way way way big.

I prefer the seed listed with the pumpkin as well. Especially if it's growing quite well, or is orange. But to each their own.

LOL @ PA punkin. Yep this site is alot bigger than it was 5 yrs ago. No one has the time to take 5 minutes to find the seed you are growing somewhere in your diary when there are 30 new diary entries everyday. That is unless you grow something really big. Then they will hunt you down and stalk you LOL. I have to go out and feed Fat bastard now.

So what if you are growing generic seeds for your first year? You have no idea what their lineage is! Check back next year and hopefully I will be growing a seed from a 1689.5 big24nut '08...........

If you are growing unknown seeds, they are doomed to never be grown again. Most growers will not grow any seed that they don't know the complete history for.
Start next year with known genetics.

I have always thought of a Diary as a kind of personal thing? On here, it is open to everyone to look at, I think we should be thankful, thankful for that opportunity to look into their world, rather than criticise what they enter, or how they post in their own diary, we should appreciate the fact that they had the trust to post it on here in the first place.
