What is a reasonable period of time to wait for folks to pay before seeds are offered to the next bidder? We have two non-payers and the auction ended 30 days ago.

Post their names, we can send the pumpkin seed mafia after them. Most clubs don't wait more than a week or 2 at most

Just let them know before posting . I have bought at several auctions and had a hard time of keeping track with everything else going on . If I am one please let me know before turning me into the pumpkin mafia . Most people on here are honest and do forget .

Yes go ahead and post handles!. I won a lot at an auction on march 3 . Sent the confirmation email out the next day an here it is March 10 and no reply so it works both ways. I check my emails every day. If i don't hear back soon give it to the next guy

I have also won auctions and sent my email confirmation and never heard nothing back. It can get confusing in the heat of the moment. I once forgot my bid amounts.

Very rare occurance to not pay for seeds you bid on. I say lets take the high road and give them a few gentle reminders before smearing them in the court of public opinion.

3rd reminders went out a few days ago and no reply was received....
I hate the idea of throwing anyone under the bus. Not everyone on this site is comfortable with their computer. Grace goes a long way. That said, if you bid, YOU NEED TO HONOR YOUR COMMITMENT.

I think the whole process should be modernized. It is very difficult to navigate and bid on the auctions

King, please explain the difficulties you are having. That would probably help all of the auctions sites. I agree that there rules...after each lot, respond to such & such email addy...does not work very well...cause I want to see what the next lot in the auction is!!! The only way to make it better, is for everyone to politely tell the auction sites what would help to make it better. Peace, Wayne JMHO!!

Wayne I think it's ok to wait until the auction is over to send your info, maybe I'm wrong but even the next morning is ok too

If you want to be fast, have an email filled in with the info, then all you need to do is add in the lot #

Split your screen and have two windows running at once. Do your email and then go back to one. Or open another window which will cover the first one , do your email and then close it and you will still be in the auction. Or you can have two screens(I think 5 is max.) which is the easiest way

I usually try to pay the same day of the auction...makes it easier. Yesterday I received seeds from an auction that i didn't even remember bidding on. At least I have many choices of what to plant after supporting the various clubs.

I love the auctions! And I looking forward to bidding in the future. This was my first year, so I didn't know all the rules. But here are a my thoughts.
It very difficult to navigate the chat room on a smartphone. All clubs should accept PayPal Emails after every lot is not practical.

Also on two of the auctions I under bid on accident(internet delay or Mia reading) and was told by the person running the auction I was "out". I did not bid again thinking I did something wrong.

About half of our winners paid via PayPal and those seeds went out the following Monday. All lots were confirmed and acknowledged via e-mail and checks still coming in. Two to three weeks before receiving payment is reasonable, as some people are waiting on a paycheck.

Whats also great with PayPal is the seller can invoice the buyer. It also automatically does the conversion to USD. The fee is 3% but I think it's well worth it. Also the buyer can send the money as a gift with no fee.

The invoice would ecspicially help with the auctions on the messag boards, because it easy to forget you placed a bid over the course of 5 to 10 days.

spudder, no disrespect meant...but some of us (me) are computer dummies, and don't know how to do all of that fancy stuff you talked about. Peace, Wayne PS...I know this is from last year's auction payment debate, but I still don't know how to do that fancy stuff! LOL
