Last year I helped to organize a little contest here on BP during March Madness. Several people contributed,including Gene McMullen, who very generously donated five of his 2145 seeds. In his note Gene wrote that the winners could get one of his seeds and the rest I could use as I saw fit. Well now the time has come.

About four months ago we moved from the Annapolis Valley to Yarmouth and we absolutely love it here. My wife got a full time gig at the same school our kids attend and it's a five minute walk!
I have a large ( for me ) garden and a beautiful new home. So....to pay it forward in a small way, we are going to sponsor a local family for Christmas. It's something we did at work back in the Valley but my wife and I want to step up and make this a Christmas to remember for a needy family who may not otherwise have much to look forward to.

To this end, I have not one, but two 2145 seeds available for the winning bidders. This will be two lots, one seed each.

The latest Barnesville auction ends in two weeks and I don't want to do this in the middle of the auction season so the bidding can start now and end next Friday at 8pm, BP time. Sorry if I stepped on any toes. The rules, simple. $5 increments- US funds. Will ship anywhere ( except for those countries requiring a phytosanitary certificate ) for free. My e-mail address is

Gene, you and Eddy are to be applauded. We were going to support a family in need regardless. When you over-donated your prize stock seed for the March Madness contest you started a chain reaction leading to this post. We often over look this site and the people who contribute to it. It's not always about the biggest or the heaviest. Maybe we need to remember it's about community and what we all want.
